Website Provides Central Stop for Families with Young Children
Looking for Information in Cabell and Wayne Counties.

E.R.A.S.E. Barriers to Early Learning, a project of the Cabell-Wayne Early Childhood Council, would like to announce the launching of its website at www.cabellwayne-youngchild.org which links families with young children in Cabell and Wayne counties with valuable information and services.

Cabell and Wayne counties have a wide range of services available to families with young children that include:

  • Nationally accredited child care programs
  • A referral system to help parents locate child care
  • Training for child care workers
  • Award-winning after-school programs
  • Child care financial assistance for eligible families
  • Parent education/home visitation programs and workshops
  • Support and specialized services for families of children with special needs
  • Health and medical services

Now, instead of doing individual searches on the internet for each of these services, families need only to log on to this site, which was developed through a federal Early Learning Opportunities grant. This site provides links to:

  • Advocacy Groups
  • Agencies
  • Child Care
  • Child Development Information
  • Education
  • Health and Medical Services
  • Cabell-Wayne Early Childhood Community Calendar

Agencies and services not already listed on the website can be added by simply clicking on an available button on the site and submitting their information.

For more information, please visit the website at www.cabellwayne-youngchild.org or contact the E.R.A.S.E. Barriers project at (304) 429-6167.
